The average size of an individual of this species is 90mm arm radius. The two common species of Nardoa appear quite similar in overall appearance and differ in the arrangement of the plates which cover the arms. In Nardoa novaecaledoniae these plates are abruptly reduced in size in the outer one- third of each arm.
